Painting to me has to do with the process and the paint itself. My paintings are not elaborately planned out but are spontaneous and instinctive. Although they are non-objective in nature they depict a kind of organic geometry, loosely based on pattern. I work in oils on canvas or cardboard, and although they seem heavy in texture they are lighthearted, with texture and color as the subject matter. In the end, my concern is to make visually pleasing and authentic paintings with less emphasis on social commentary.
